For people who are sick of the same old massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) they have been playing all this time, here is a list of the newest and best MMO games of 2014. This includes open beta games and newly launched free to play MMORPGs. Closed beta MMOs and those that are not yet in English are not included.
Aura Kingdom – a colorful, fun free to play MMORPG with anime-style graphics. Although this might seem like just another MMORPG, it’s well worth a look since AK has become very popular and now has a large playerbase. The community is very friendly compared to other MMOs. Aura Kingdom is a good choice for players who want an easy game to play so they can relax and have fun.
In Aura Kingdom, players take the role of envoys of Gaia, gifted individuals who set out to save the world of Azuria. Together with their companions, the eidolons, which they collect along the way and can perform devastating combo-attacks with, they can go on quests, explore dungeons and battle fellow envoys in PvP arenas.

Swordsman – aka Swordsman Online, is a free-to-play martial arts and wuxia-inspired MMORPG. Its open beta started on July 3, 2014. This is a big-budget game with top-notch graphics and smooth gameplay. As a disciple of one of Swordsman’s ten class-defining martial art schools, players begin their journey to master legendary fighting skills by engaging in fierce action-packed combat.
Infinite Crisis (MOBA) – a new highly anticipated multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game that is currently in open beta. Infinite Crisis is a free to play game that offers gamers a competitive player vs. player battle experience set in the legendary DC Multiverse – a world in which familiar DC Comics characters have been reimagined in startling ways. Featuring a wide variety of DC Comics heroes and villains, Infinite Crisis puts players in control of twisted incarnations of their favorite characters throughout the Multiverse such as Nightmare Batman and Gaslight Catwoman, playing in league with well-known characters including Green Lantern and The Flash.
Sparta: War of Empires (MMORTS) – a strategy MMO with top-quality artwork, modeling, and surprisingly good voiceovers and original music. Set in Greece in the 5th century BC, Sparta: War of Empires immerses gamers into the role of a lord returned from an ongoing war against Xerxes and the Persian Empire, where politics and diplomacy prove as sharp as the blades of combat. With assistance from King Leonidas and the Spartan army, players must protect their city-state from the constant Persian threat and hone their abilities as a strategist, diplomat and ruthless warrior. In a land dictated by selfishness and brutality, survival is a fleeting hope for many.
Monkey King Online – a free-to-play browser MMORPG inspired by the Chinese epic Journey to the West. Players choose one of four ancient heroes, including the rebellious Monkey King himself, and embark on a quest to bring peace to a broken world. Real-time combat is enhanced by the Immortals, giving players the ability to change shape during battle. Monkey King Online can be enjoyed solo, but features a host of robust multiplayer modes, including team dungeons, PvP combat, competitive Arena play, and territorial Guild versus Guild battles.
Knight’s Fable – this free to play 3D fantasy MMORPG is a new open beta browser-based game with with beautiful hand drawn art. KF features an fast paced turn-based combat, expansive loot system, tons of rare gear, gems, heroes, trainable beasts, and a PvP arena.
