This list of top 10 MMORPGs is based on one thing – fun gameplay. Here is a slideshow with a short description of each MMO game.

What do we look for in the best free to play MMORPGs?

Gameplay – in the end, all that really matters is great gameplay. If you can’t have fun playing it, why bother? The problem is that fun is hard to define so here we have listed a good number of titles which are different from each other so that hopefully every person can find a good one that suits his or her playing style best.

These other criteria do not matter as much but it might help you understand these choices.

Graphics – 3D or 2D doesn’t matter as much as you might think. As we said before, the top 10 MMORPG games is based on gameplay more than anything else. However, everyone likes beautiful graphics so that was also considered when we listed the best ten free MMO games.

Free – only f2p games are listed here.

New or lesser-known games – sometimes we like to add some new or less well-known MMOs just to let people know that there are some great new MMOGs out there.

Popularity – there’s nothing sadder than logging in and finding the virtual world a wasteland with no one playing. Generally, popular games are more fun to play than games with a small playerbase. The exception to this are the new games that we want to highlight.
